BUYING PROPERTY IN SPAIN If you’re looking to buy property abroad, be it for retirement, vacation or letting, Spain should definitely be one of your top options. One of Spain’s strongest selling points is that it offers a relaxed lifestyle along with a strong economy and infrastructure (not to mention its famously sunny coasts). Spain is coming off a decade-long real estate boom, which means that prices are beginning to cool down. This might not be the greatest news to investors interested purely in profit (although so far the market is proving to remain profitable), but really shouldn’t have much of an impact for buyers looking for an enjoyable place to get the most out of their hard-earned money. Analysts still believe that the Spanish property market will remain strong due in large part to the popularity of the country as a destination for foreign vacationers and retirees. Spain has also become a top choice for EU residents interested in living and working abroad. Added to this is the impact of immigrants on the country, which has had a decidedly positive impact on Spain’s economy. In recent years, Spain has responded to its popularity as a place to buy real estate by modifying its legislation to make it easier for foreign buyers both during and after the buying process. A few areas of particular interest for buying a Property in Spain are: Costa del Sol This southern coastal area of Spain is perhaps the most established destination for foreign homebuyers; mostly British, German and Dutch. · Nerja: About 50 km east of Málaga, this once-small fishing village now has a population of over 12,000 residents. A beautiful white-washed village, Nerja is graced by over 16 km of pristine, clear-water beaches. · Marbella: One of the hottest destinations in the world for those with riches and fame, the area is also popular with ‘ordinary’ people willing to pay extra for lush surroundings. · Benalmadena: Only about 20 km from Malaga’s airport, Benalmadena is a town of 30,000 that grow to 100,000 in summer months. The town is divided into the old (a tiny village in the mountains) and the new (modern developments along the coast). Almeria One of Spain’s most beautiful Mediterranean hideaways, Almeria’s coast so far remains untouched by the massive tourism and construction seen in other parts of Spain. Stunning secluded beaches, quaint villages to discover and over 300 days of sun per year are some of the strong points of this area. Murcia This city of 300,000 on the Costa Calida in Southeastern Spain boasts a great climate, lush plant life and beautiful beaches, as well as access to an airport, golf resorts and plenty of other amenities especially directed to a foreign market. Spain Property of the Month This off plan villa complex is located in natural settings only 15 min. from the beautiful coasts of Murcia. It carefully takes care to get a mixture of beautiful vegetation, (including an 18 whole golf course) and amazing lunar landscapes that together with the pure air and the sun, makes this resort an exclusive place in Spain. The villa is on one level with a constructed areas of 139 square metres, including 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, chimney, a garden with swimming pool and all at the amazing price of ONLY 255.000Eur.
